Me

I am Daniella M Nicholas, M.Ed
AKA the Seasonal Siren
Renaissance woman from the sea, I love what is nutritious and delicious, spicy and sweet. I am an educator and maker of Medicines and art. My niche is where the health of the planet and the health of the people connect.
My professional mission is to study, practice, and teach how we can approach healthier and happier lives affordably and naturally by highlighting what we already have on hand: in our kitchens, in our environments, in our communities, in our spirits, and in our ancestry. Proud of my own mixed heritage, I celebrate my mixed Mexican (Chichimeca and Spanish) and Italian ancestry through my work and with my cooking. To back up my passions I have a bachelor's degree in Health Arts and Sciences, where I first dove into ethnobotany; I have a master's degree in Urban Environmental Education, where I focussed on the cultural importance of earth justice; finished a year-long herbalist program, and I have the tutelage of my elders and indigenous community. I am currently based in Midcoast Maine, with deep roots in SoCal, coastal Massachusetts, and Coast Salish land and waterways of Western Washington.
